Tanni Grey-Thompson says Oscar Pistorius should not compete in this summer's Olympic Games.
Grey-Thompson, the 11-time Paralympic champion who set more than 30 world records before she retired from competitive sport in May last year, discusses the potential appearance of Pistorius in Beijing with Matthew Syed in the first of five exclusive Olympics podcasts.
She says she remains unsure whether Pistorius, the double amputee who uses blades to run, should be allowed to compete, although she adds that the South African should be permitted to run alongside able-bodied athletes outside of the Games.
Grey-Thompson also talks about Natalie Du Toit, the disabled South African swimmer who will be racing against able-bodied athletes in Beijing, and discusses the fine line between being a competitive athlete and a cheat.

Are we supposed to infer from this that having no feet is a competitve advantage? What a load of rubbish, Chris is quite right-contact lenses are helping visually diasbled people. Is that ok? And the whole jamboree'll be here in four years time. Paid for us unwilling London tax payers. Groan...
Kate, London,
In a word, NO....
Calvin, London,
2 cars with different engines? Would never be fair on one of the 2 (doesnt matter which) . Should a basketball, or football player wear contact lenses? Same argument me thinks, but where does it end?
Drugs? From contacts, to spring trainers, to wet suits we are already beyond human capabilities..
Chris, preston, uk
I think Pistorius should be allowed to participate, just so long as everyone else in his event is also allowed to wear springs.

The mens wheelchair T53/54 marathon world record stands at just 1:20:14. Do we allow this to stand as the overall marathon world record? No we dont. It's not any form of prejudice, it's just common sense.
Steve, Manchester, UK
Yes I think he should be able to run why not good for him to be able to run on then it is wrong to stop him.
jessica thomas, wolverhampton, england
I'm sure that when dame Tammy broke all those records, she made sure she had the best constructed chariot she could buy.
