The man, the films, those blondes. Free DVD collection starting this Sunday

Hyde Park Hundreds of motorists in fancy dress set off from London in the Mongol Rally. Up to 200 cars with only one-litre engines – and driven by teams from 23 countries – left on the journey of up to 10,000 miles through 15 countries.
The motorists have no route plan and are offered no back-up support on the journey a third of the way around the world to Mongolia.
The vehicles include an ambulance, a 1966 red Routemaster bus and a car with an imitation phone box on its roof. The teams were required to raise at least £1,000 for the rally’s charities.
The rally is expected to finish in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital, in about three weeks’ time.

I saw my son off on Saturday, the atmosphere and excitement was brilliant, they are all setting off on an amazing adventure, good for them. Hopefully they will learn a lot, laugh a lot and come back home safely. Worried but excited Mother!!

I took part last year. Was an absoloutely amazing experience. Don't let the political issues worry you. The places we were warned the most about are where we found the most hospitable people. russia however, where the police get bored and drunk errr....
stuart, exeter,
I was there to see them all off because my Dad's taking part. (It's part of his 60th celebrations) I'm so excited for them all! Worried but excited!

It must have been fun in Hyde park on Friday.
Both the Mongol Rally and the Africa Rally setting off from the same place.
With the political situation in some of the countries en route, I do wonder about the wisdom of these trips.
However, I would love to take part.
