The Queen's eldest grandson Peter Phillips married his Canadian fiancée Autumn Kelly this afternoon in front of 300 guests at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Miss Kelly arrived at the historic chapel, the setting for royal baptisms, marriages and funerals for more than 100 years, in a State Bentley with her father Brian at 4pm.
The 30-year-old bride, who converted from Catholicism to marry in to the Royal Family, wore a dress by London designer Sassi Holford and was escorted by her six bridesmaids, who included her husband's younger sister Zara Phillips, 27, wearing green Vera Wang outfits.
Miss Kelly also wore a tiara borrowed from her new mother-in-law, the Princess Royal, and earrings and a necklace bought for her by her husband.
Mr Phillips, also 30, son of Princess Anne and 11th in line to the throne, was supported by two best men and five ushers, all friends from his time at Gordonstoun School in Elgin, Scotland.
In the chapel, dressed with blooms from London florist Rob Van Helden, readings were due to be given by Patrick Kelly, the bride’s half-brother, and Princess Eugenie, daughter of the Duchess of York.
The service was led by the Dean of Windsor, the Right Reverend David Conner.
Royal guests also included the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 22, and Prince Williams' partner Kate Middleton.
The Prince himself was not at the ceremony, but was instead a guest at the wedding of Batian Craig, the brother of his former girlfriend Jecca Craig, in Kenya.
Other guests at the Windsor wedding included 70 friends and family of the bride who had flown over from Canada.
The celebration will move to Windsor's Frogmore House, where the reception will be held.
The newlywed couple first met in 2003 at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, where Mr Phillips was working for Formula One racing team BMW Williams and Miss Kelly was employed in the main BMW hospitality suite.
When Mr Phillips kept his Royal connections quiet as the fledgling relationship continued to blossom, until Miss Kelly spotted him on a TV programme on the lead up to his cousin Prince William's 21st birthday later in 2003, and the truth was revealed.
The couple have spent the last two years splitting their time between a west London flat and Aston Farm, a cottage on the Gloucestershire estate of Peter’s father, Captain Mark Phillips.
Mr Phillips, who graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Sports Science, now looks after the Royal Bank of Scotland’s motor racing sponsorship.
His new wife, a graduate of Canada’s McGill University where she studied East Asian Studies, is now personal assistant to veteran broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson.
Their couple's engagement was announced in a Buckingham Palace statement in July last year.

Maybe they've been adult about it a talked it through & made the private choice that she would convert.
What really counts here is that 2 people who love each other have just got married! In this day & age where so many people are turning there backs on marriage.
May God bless both ot them

Catholisism is dead and poor in Montreal. The Montreal Anglican Christ Church Cathedral on the other hand had signed a 99 year lease deal with 'Le Cathedrale' a prominent skyline office tower that was build on their property beside and below the church. Autumn's new religion is winning here.
Nicholas, Brossard, Canada
Rising above sniping about Catholicism and the Monarchy, I just wish to add how lovely the Queen looked, having opted for an outfit and hat that really flattered her - and smiling! Perhaps Princess Beatrice should start taking tips on headwear from her grandmother.
Liz, Salisbury, England
The Royal Family ARE the C of E of course she would have to convert, however I am proud to be British and proud that Autumn is now part of our Royal Family, I am a monarchist and proud of it, surely if there is anything wrong here, its that religion exists and creates divides! Congrats 2 both

Anna...bigitory is built into the British establishment. 2008 and nonsense like this exists. Why has it not beeen changed? Easy, because the majority of non-Catholics dont want to change it. It called bigitory and was expressed very well in Northern Ireland for a very long time.
A Kavanagh, Copenhagen, Denmark
No doubt they'll breed and we'll have more royal spongers to pay for... Makes you proud to be British and so happy to pay extortionate taxes to pay for this lot.
Ivan Axetogrind, London, UK
I'm non-catholic and I married a catholic in a catholic church, so I'm not sure why anyone thinks it cant be done?
I've also changed a lot of things in my life to be with the one I love, so it is possibly what Autumn actually wanted to do for Peter
very best wishes to the happy couple
Lisa, Northampton, UK
Phillips could have given up his claim to the throne. He is 11th in line. If he had put her first then she wouldn't have had to give up her religion.
On another note, I am a Catholic who married a non-Catholic in the Catholic Church. So it is permitted.
Thomas, Ottawa, Canada
Actually non-Catholics can marry Catholics in a Catholic church because I have been to a number of these weddings - Buddist-Catholic, Jewish-Catholic, etc.
Paul Tallon, Framingham, MA, USA
Non catholics can't even marry a catholic in a catholic church or be buried with them, so I don't know why they're accusing people of being bigots.
Anna, Wiltshire, UK
Having been brought up in both Protestant and Catholic religions as a child; it is the Catholic religion that should go, not the monarchy. The Catholic religion is a law unto itself and is way out of step with the rest of the Christian world which is why the sensible monarchy has this rule.
Paul Barrett, Valletta, Malta
The Canadian girl did well to renounce her religion . Too bad she has to adopt the Church of England creed . The tenets of the faith remain the same ...False trinitarian baptism , and one day soon the Cof E is likely to return to the original mother church . Anyway , Best Wishes to Both parties.
John Blissett, vancouver , canada
What nonsense! It has nothing to do with Catholic bigotry but about family matters, a Catholic family would have demanded the exact same! And anyhow, a Protestant marriage wouldn't even be recognised by Catholic ecclesiastical authorities, how's that for religious bigotry
Alex, Paris,
I am of Roman Catholic background but I am not offended by the ban on royals marrying Catholics. I have studied the history of England and Britain and understand the historical context into which the ban arose. Both people -- and nations -- have the right to keep their identities.
MaryJ, San Francisco, USA
Good luck!.
Its a bit perverse of the Church of England who will quiet happily marry Charles and Camilla who both had extra maritial affairs one concluding in making Diana an uhappy wife.
This girl who has done nothing has to renounce her religion.
steve tea, manchester, cheshire
From one Catholic girl to another, once a Catholic, always a Catholic. Her thinking and beliefs and the choices she makes in life will always reflect her Catholic upbringing and sensibilities.
Jo, Los Angeles, USA
The necessity of her religious conversion marred a beautiful event - either the the religious discrimination built into royal succession ends or the monarchy must go. I'm a monarchist at heart but institutionalized anti-Catholic bigotry is a relic of less enlightened times. There is a right choice.
