What is it? A new concept boutique that will have lovers of modern design queuing around the block.

And what’s a ‘concept boutique’? A mélange of desirables under one roof: small furnishings, handcrafted lighting, covetable porcelain, fragrances, travel accessories and exclusive fashion labels. At Milk, these are housed in an open-plan, whitewashed space. The online shop opened this week.

Any rare finds? The highly collectible pieces by Fornasetti are particularly arresting. This fun Lips Stool costs £700.

THE OBJECT

Barbara Hulanicki wallpaper

Biba founder and fashion icon Barbara Hulanicki’s eclectic career continues with a new wallpaper collection for Graham & Brown (grahambrown.com). The 12 flocked designs mix vibrant colours with opulent metallics and pay homage to her high-fashion heritage with humour as well as style. We’re particularly fond of Skulls, which would look fabulous in a guest loo. Available in Midnight only, it costs £60 per roll.

THE BARGAIN

Habitat glassware

Designer glass objects are hugely popular right now, but they’re often madly expensive, too. How thrilling it is, then, to discover these Birdy bottles, which considering how pretty they look, are ridiculously cheap. Part of Habitat’s new winter collection, the three designs come in various chic and smoky colours and cost just £9 a piece (habitat.co.uk).
