Blondie’s front woman, Debbie Harry, below, is investing in Manhattan. The singer and actress, 62, a long-term resident of Red Bank, New Jersey, has paid £286,000 for a coop flat in the Chelsea area of New York. Harry, who recently launched her first solo album in 14 years, has also just contributed to the Official Punk Rock Book of Lists – with a roll call of people she would like to bed.

It’s the house of the holy for Led Zeppelin fans: the property where Jimmy Page lived when he formed the band in 1968 has hit the market through private sale. The Thames Boathouse, originally a boathouse with a wet dock and offices, became a dwelling in 1959. Page bought the property in 1967, when he was 23 and lead guitarist with the Yardbirds. He lived there until 1973, at the height of Led Zeppelin’s fame. The property is coming up for sale in January, priced at £1.2m.

Chris Evans and his new wife, Natasha Shishmanian, are busy creating a love nest in the grounds of his former home. Evans, 41, married the Portuguese golfer, 28, in August. The Radio 2 DJ has planning permission to extend two cottages he retained after selling off the 172-acre Hascombe Court estate near Godalming, Surrey, to the exiled Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky in 2004 for £10m.
