Moving on: Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne, 22, the moody Canadian singer, and her husband, Deryck Whibley, 27, of Sum 41, the American rock band, have become the latest residents of Bel-Air, the celebrity-heavy Los Angeles district where houses can sell for £10m and upwards. The couple’s purchase is relatively modest: the Los Angeles Times reports they paid £4.7m for the 12,000-sq-ft, Tuscan-style property, which has eight bedrooms, 10½ bathrooms and an acre of grounds. As well as a pool, spa, lift and a garage for 10 cars, it comes with a celebrity pedigree: MTV fans will already be familiar with the interior as it is the former home of Travis Barker of Blink182 and featured in Meet the Barkers, the reality television show. Lavigne apparently wanted to build a house, but settled for this one, which has been heavily upgraded.
