Hot on the scent

There will be an evening dedicated to the scents of summer on Wednesday, 7-9pm, at the RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey. Visitors will take guided walks that show off the perfume of summer plants and learn about the best varieties. Sweet victory

As part of its Grow Your Own Berry campaign (visit rhs.org.uk for details), the RHS is holding a competition for Sunday Times readers to name the strawberry above, donated by Thompson & Morgan. The winning name will be announced in this paper at a later date. The prize is a family day ticket to the winner’s nearest garden; 10 runners-up will get pots of strawberry jam and seed bookmarks.
