Dave may look like a human (Eddie Murphy, to be exact), but he’s really a disguised spaceship in which a crew of tiny humanoid aliens have travelled across the galaxy and must now navigate the streets of Manhattan. In Brian Robbins’s family comedy, Murphy has a second role as the uptight captain of the spacecraft, who struggles constantly to make Dave act like a normal person. It’s a routine that emphasises what’s wrong with both of the star’s performances. Seeking to be deadpan as the captain and robotic as Dave, he exerts too much self-control and condemns himself to dullness.

I have to disagree with this revew. Meet Dave is a masterpeice comedey which stars the hilarious Eddy Murphy. Throughout the entire 90 minutes I was left in tears in many of the comedy moments. Another great movie by MURPHY
