“My attitude is that I would like to keep it real,” Aishwarya Rai- Bachchan stated when asked what her approach was to the Unforgettable World Tour which starts in Toronto on Friday. Ash will be miming (how real is that?) and dancing to her hit songs on stage along with her hubby Abhishek, father-in-law Amitabh and a host of other superstars.
The bolly-action moves to Trinidad and Tobago (‘TNT) on Sunday and Amitabh is excited as this is one of his favourite destinations; he first performed there decades ago and sang a local calypso. “After an exhaustive tour in 1983 I had sworn never to do a live show again.” Why did he change his mind and is he excited about re-visiting TNT? “Requests from fans all over the world make it impossible to resist participation; this is the only time when we get to interact with fans the world over including Trinidad and Tobago.”
Bollywood biggies look set to enjoy a Caribbean holiday as they are spending the most time between concerts in the twin island republic. After TNT, the tour moves to various North American cities before ending in London on August 24 when Britain’s favourite Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty joins them. Shilpa is excited: “After a long time, I’m part of such a big tour. This is the second time I’m performing with Amitabh. I am very happy to perform in London, the place which has given me so much!”
